The Level 1 Kayak Coach Award is the first step on the Paddlesport Coaching pathway.  This qualification introduces new coaches to the concepts underpinning good coaching practice and helps them understand and coach technical and tactical elements of the course.  With this qualification you will be able to assist level 2 or higher coaches as well as possibly running taster sessions in sheltered water once you have received appropriate site specific training.  You will also be able to coach participants in a variety of craft up to BCU 1 star and the new Paddlesport Passport standard.


This qualification also forms part of the Fast Track Instructor Course offered by Four Points Adventure.


Pre-requisites
You must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the course
You must understand the basics of manoeuvring the canoe or kayak


Equipment
We can provide you a boat, paddle and all group safety equipment and PPE, all you need to provide is your own winter wetsuit and wetsuit boots or trainers.
